Lasertally opens the solid, measures it, and prices every operation from what it found. No hand-counting holes off a PDF, no spreadsheet that somebody last updated in 2019.

Every number traced back to something measured.

  • Pierces, cut length, bends and bounding box read straight off the geometry, in the units your shop works in.
  • Pre-quote checks that refuse to guess. Material priced, cut speed known, geometry priceable, part fits stock. A missing figure shows as a gap, never as a zero.
  • Your rate card, to the cent. Programming, loading, run rates, pierce rates, travel, admin, markup, lead-time tiers, secondary ops, and operations you invent yourself.
  • Formed parts unfold. A bent bracket is priced on its developed flat pattern, with the bend allowance the metal actually needs.

How the quoting engine works

Tube laser nesting, on the sticks you actually have.

Lasertally Nest packs tube parts onto the stock lengths in your rack and posts the rotary program for them. Tube gets the same lead-ins, kerf compensation, micro joints and cut sequencing it already ran on plate, not a second half-finished engine bolted on beside the first.

Shared cuts, and a leftover you can still use.

  • Where two parts meet end to end, the cut is made once. That saves a pierce, a kerf of stock and the whole length of one contour, and on plain square-cut work it is close to half the cutting time.
  • The chuck allowances are real. Front margin and dead zone come off the usable length before anything is placed, so the nest is measured against what is left of the stick rather than against the whole of it.
  • Slack goes to the tail, in one piece. A long offcut is stock and a scattered one is scrap, so the leftover is racked, priced pro rata and labeled with a barcode and the length it can actually hold.
  • It tells you what it left out. Requested, placed, still loading, cannot nest. A nester that cannot say what it dropped is not finished.

What is Lasertally?
Lasertally is Windows desktop software that quotes laser-cut parts for fabrication shops. It reads a STEP, DXF, IGES or NC1 file, measures the pierce count, cut length, bend count and bounding box from the CAD solid, and prices the job against your own rate card. The separate Nest add-on then nests the won job on sheet or tube and posts the cut program. It is not a marketplace and it does not take a cut of the work it prices.

What file formats does Lasertally support?
Lasertally reads STEP (.step, .stp), IGES (.igs, .iges), DXF (.dxf) and DSTV NC1 (.nc1). It handles solids, 2D profiles and tube, including automatic tube-section detection. SAT and DWG are not supported: export STEP or DXF from any CAD package instead. The full breakdown is in the CAD format support table.

Is there a free trial?

There is a free preview account. It takes one email, costs nothing and does not expire. It runs the entire quoting engine on your own files: Lasertally opens your STEP, DXF, IGES or NC1 parts, measures the pierce counts, cut lengths, bends and bounding boxes off the real geometry, and prices them against a rate card you configure. Nothing is a sample file and nothing is simulated.

What preview will not do is export. No quote PDF, no posted program, no nest output. That is the only difference between preview and a plan, and it is why there is no clock on it: you can take as long as you like checking Lasertally against a job you have already quoted by hand. How much does Lasertally cost?
Lasertally costs $479 a month for Sheet, $479 a month for Tube, or $759 a month for Complete, which is both. The Nest nesting and CAM add-on is $349 a month on top of any plan. Every plan includes five seats, and extra seats are $49 a month each. Annual billing costs ten months for twelve. There are no per-quote fees and no percentage of the jobs you win. Can I get a refund?

Yes. Email hello@lasertally.app within 14 days of your first purchase and you get a full refund, no questions asked. This is written into the terms of service, so it is a commitment rather than a policy that can be quietly withdrawn. Renewal charges may be refunded at our discretion as well.

What happens if I cancel my Lasertally subscription?

Your quotes and rate card live in local files on your own machine and stay yours. You do not get locked out either: a lapsed subscription falls back to a preview account, which still opens your files, measures them and prices them, and simply will not export a quote PDF or post a program. And if you have subscribed for 12 months or more, the version you are running becomes yours to keep forever, with your login staying active for it at no charge after you cancel. No cloud quoting tool can offer that, because there is nothing to keep when the tab closes.
